Census Bureau: More women than men in Jackson County in 2021

Of the 52,548 people living in Jackson County, Alabama in 2021, 50.6% (26,596) were women and 49.4% (25,952) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by NE Alabama News.

Data showed the average age for women in Jackson County in 2021 was 45 years, higher than the national average of 40 for women.

According to census data, women aged 18 and over outnumbered men in the same age group by 21. Meanwhile, in the 65 and over group, there were 4,730 men and 5,836 women.
