One business registered in a city within DeKalb County in week ending Nov. 12, 2022

There was one business that registered in cities within DeKalb County in the week ending Nov. 12, 2022, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is 86 percent less than the week before, when seven businesses were registered.

Fort Payne registered the most businesses in DeKalb County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
