9 Arrests made Monday by Narcotics & Interdiction Agents

Yesterday, DCSO Narcotics and Criminal Interdiction Agents arrested 10 following search warrants and traffic stops.

On Monday, April 25th, Agents with the DeKalb County Narcotics Unit, along with the Criminal Interdiction Unit, and Officers with the Sylvania Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence on Newman Drive in Sylvania.

Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found inside the residence. Brent Cagle Wells (44 of Rainsville), Timothy Neil Wells (46 of Rainsville), Justus Isaiah Wegweiser (39 of Sylvania) and David Ladelle Scales, Jr (39 of Sylvania) were all charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Also, on Monday, Agents with the DeKalb County Narcotics Unit conducted a search warrant at a residence on County Road 216 in Rainsville finding marijuana, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Sonia Raylene Posey (48 of Rainsville) and Garry Scott Chapman (47 of Rainsville) were charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree.

Again, on Monday, Agents with the DeKalb County Narcotics Unit had received information about a residence on County Road 233 in Sylvania.  When Agents arrived, a male subject in the residence attempted to flee and consumed suspected methamphetamine. During a search of the residence, additional methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found. 

Christopher Richard Franco (39 Of Rainsville) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest and Tampering with Physical Evidence.  Lois Jean Noland (48 of Sylvania) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Also, on Monday, at approximately 4 pm, a Criminal Interdiction Agent attempted to make a traffic stop on County Road 52 near the Peak's Corner Community after a vehicle was observed driving erratically while passing utility workers when the suspect initially attempted to flee. The vehicle would come to a stop a short distance away on County Road 50.

The driver, Dakota Hartline (29 of Chickamauga, Georgia) was found to have outstanding warrants with Walker County, Georgia for Burglary, 1st Degree (x4), Burglary 2nd Degree, Financial Transaction Card Theft and Forgery 4th Degree, and Entering an Automobile.

Hartline was booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center and awaits extradition to Georgia.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said of the incident: "This is a great job by our guys and girls in taking initiative to clean up the problem areas in our communities. Our deputies and agents set out each day to get the job done, even on state holidays."
