Marshall County ranked 23rd in Alabama for resident earnings in 2019

Marshall County ranked 23rd among counties in Alabama by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Marshall County residents was $24,278 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 34,883 households with a population of 95,643.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Shelby County with $38,053 per year after adjusting for inflation – $13,775 more than Marshall County. It had 79,630 households with a population of 213,432.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Sumter County with $15,278 per year after adjusting for inflation – $9,000 less than Marshall County. It had 5,202 households with a population of 12,797.
